| “Striving for Spiritual Growth in a Safe and Fun Atmosphere!”…children excited to come to church…a safe, caring learning environment…decorated classrooms…loving and trained teachers - and children growing by leaps and bounds in their walk with God - would you like to see your children experiencing any of this? That’s our heart for children here at CEFC. We believe our mission in children’s lives is more than just babysitting – it is challenging them to take big steps in their own walk with God – and giving that challenge in unique, exciting ways appropriate to each age level. And our passion is to create an environment that is as fun and as safe as we can make it. From a high-quality nursery to the activity-filled preteen ministry, everything we do is done to maximize our impact on these little lives and point them to Christ. Want to learn more? | | Core Values
| |
| - “Practically Life-Changing and Life-Challenging”: That all our teaching should be practical, touching the real issues of children’s lives, and that every week’s teaching should be challenging each child to take new steps of spiritual growth. Many churches are content with just teaching a Bible story each week, and hoping some sort of growth comes out of it. We are choosing to be intentional about our children’s spiritual growth, not trusting it to happen accidentally, but purposefully designing our teaching in a way that will accomplish it.
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105 For the word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the dividing apart of soul and spirit, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 For as the rain comes down from heaven…so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth. It will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish what I desire, and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.. Isaiah 55:10-11.
- “Uniquely Exciting Teaching”: That the teaching our children receive each week goes above and beyond not just boring them, but that it utilizes those mediums and methods that will most effectively capture our children’s attention, and make the Bible come alive to them in new ways.
“I am become all things to all people, so that by all possible means, I might win some.” I Corinthians 9:22
- “Genuinely Caring Relationships”: That no child will feel like one among many, no matter how large we become, but that every child will feel individually loved and cherished, through the deliberate and intentional caring acts of our teachers and leaders, and through the way we structure our classes.
“By this will everyone know that you are my disciples, if you have love, one for another.” John 13:35.
- “Serious About Safety and Security”: That every effort is made to reach and maintain the highest possible standard of safety and security, recognizing that such must be parent-friendly and teacher-friendly, yet also recognizing that safety is paramount for all children in today’s society.
“I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.” Matthew 10:16
- “Spiritually-growing, Team-Committed”: That all of our teachers, assistants, support staff and leaders serving in the children’s ministry are personally committed to growing in their own walk with God, and that every team member is committed to the greater vision of what we are striving to achieve in each child’s life, not just concerned about their own little piece, but fully committed to the greater vision that God has entrusted to us.
“…But I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me…” Philippians 3:12
